Here Comes Santa! With this year's theme "Adventures of the North Pole" of the Richmond Hill Santa Claus Parade is sure to be a memorable event for everyone. The parade will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of Yonge Street and Industrial Road, proceed south on Yonge Street and conclude at Hillcrest Mall. If you want to be on Santa's good list don't forget:

  • Food items for the Richmond Hill Food Bank will be collected along the parade route by representatives of The Liberal newspaper and York Regional Towing Ltd.
  • Letters to Santa will be collected along the parade route by representatives of Canada Post. Kids, address your letters to:
    North Pole, H0H 0H0

Richmond Hill Santa Claus Parade 2013 - Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Does the Parade go on rain or shine?
    Yes it does. You should dress according to the weather. Past parades were held in everything from bright sunshine to a sleet storm.
  2. What will my family see at this year’s Parade?
    You and your family will see approximately 70 brightly-decorated community group and commercial floats, marching bands, colourful costumes, lots of clowns handing out candy canes and much more. Of course, the Jolly Ol’ Elf himself, Santa Claus, will again appear at the end of the Parade.
  3. Will there be washroom facilities along the route?
    Washrooms will be open at the M.L. McConaghy Seniors’ Centre (located at 10100 Yonge Street) and the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts.
  4. Will seating be provided along the route?
    No, seating is not provided along the route. We encourage you to bring lawn chairs and arrive early for the best spot from which to watch the Parade.
  5. Will my family see the Parade again on Rogers Television?
    Yes. Rogers Television will again broadcast the Richmond Hill Santa Claus Parade for those who were unable to see it live on November 18th.

Richmond Hill Santa Claus Parade 2013 - Road Closures

The following road closures ensure a safe environment for event participants, the Richmond Hill Santa Claus Parade audience and of course, Santa and his reindeer:

  • Yonge Street will be closed between Elgin Mills Road and 16th Avenue/Carrville Road on Sunday, November 24 from 12:45p.m. to 4:45p.m.
  • "No Parking" signs will be posted on Yonge Street the day before this event.
  • Barricades will be erected at both entrances to Hillcrest Mall off Carrville, entrance to Hillcrest Mall north of Mastermind Toys and at the following locations to block the roads:
