Trees cannot be placed out in plastic bags!Waste Collection Schedule Changes

There will be a change to the Blue Box, Green Bin and garbage collection schedule due to the upcoming holidays. During the week of December 24 and the week of December 31, pick up will be one day later than your regularly scheduled collection day.

Christmas Tree Collection

In order for your tree to be collected please remember to:

  1. Remove all decorations and nails.
  2. Place your tree at the bottom of your driveway by 7 a.m. on January 14.
  3. Ensure that it is not frozen to the snowbank.
  4. Remove any plastic bag covers.

Disposal Guidelines

  • Trees cannot be placed out in plastic bags, because plastic does not break down in the composting process and it ends up contaminating the soil.
  • In the event of a storm, please place the tree at the side of your driveway at the curb, to avoid it getting buried in a snowbank.
  • If you miss this collection, trees can be dropped off free of charge at the Miller compost facility located at 1351 Bloomington Road.
